Cliff Russell, Owner/Trainer



At a young age, Cliff Russell developed a passion for the game of football and enjoyed much success in the sport.  Cliff knows about hard work, passion and achieving great things
¼. Cliff knows the importance of making the most of every opportunity.  Cliff wants to share his Collegiate, NFL and Training experience to all through Russell Fitness Sports & Wellness.

Cliff was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  His father was in the military so he traveled around quite a bit.  He resided in places such as North Carolina, Maryland, Germany and Hawaii.

He now resides in Ashburn VA where he serves as, Founder & Owner of Russell Fitness Sports & Wellness, LLC. Cliff believes his purpose in life is to inspire and encourage others to reach their full potential.

Leah Russell, Executive Director, COO


Leah, wife of Owner (Cliff Russell), plays an instrumental part in the overall development of Russell Fitness. When you’re not seeing Leah’s bubbly smile and bright personality, she’s busy working behind the scenes handling all the accounting and administrative aspects of the business. Leah’s job is to assure that every client and potential client receives the most quality of service. Leah was born and raised in Oakland, California - although moved to Moreno Valley, California for her High School years. In High School Leah was an honor student and received an Academic Scholarship to the University of Utah. It was at Utah where Leah and Cliff met and they’ve been together ever since. Leah shares the same passion to see other individuals reach their full potential in life. When Leah’s not in the office, she likes to stay fit by participating in the boot camps and body blasts for a great work out. Leah is here to answer any question or concern you may have in regards to our services. Kari Utz: Executive Director of Nutrition and Adult Fitness


As Director of Nutrition for Russell Fitness, Kari is excited to work with clients of all health and fitness backgrounds. From beginners through elite athletes, Kari has the knowledge and passion to help each client reach their individual health goals.

Kari has certifications in both Fitness Training and Performance Nutrition from the International Sports Sciences Association. She has years of personal and professional experience in maximizing sports and life performance through diet and conditioning. As Kari will express to her clients, performance-specific nutrition is the key to reaching your conditioning goals!

Kari competed in figure-bodybuilding competitions for several years and from that experience gained invaluable knowledge on full body transformations, specifically how to best balance diet and conditioning to meet one’s individual health goals.

Kari played Division-1 Women’s soccer at the University of Delaware and then went on to play at the Semi-Pro level after college. She has a strong background in speed and agility training, as well as sport-specific conditioning.

In addition to soccer, Kari was a stand out in high school Softball in Eastern Long Island.

She grew up in Orient, N.Y., attended University of Delaware from 1988 through January 1993 and lived in Wilmington, DE until moving to Northern Virginia in 2006.

 

  
Joshua Russell, Youth Sports & Performance Trainer

 

Joshua, like his brother Cliff, attended James Campbell High School in Ewa Beach, HI. He started at running back and is #2 in the record book for longest touchdown run in a game (85 yds). He was also ranked #1 in the State of Hawaii for body building and # 3 for power lifting in his weight class.

After High School, Joshua’s football talent carried him to Merced Community College, in Merced, California. There he received his Associates Degree in General Studies. After graduation, Joshua traveled across country to the state of Virginia where he attended Virginia State University in Petersburg. At VSU, Joshua walked on the football team and earned himself the starting position at running back and received a scholarship his senior year. He graduated Magna Cum Laude receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Sport Marketing and Masters Degree in Sport Management.

Joshua now resides in Fredricksburg of Stafford County, where he coached football at Spotsylvania High School. June of 2008, Joshua Russell was brought on board and delegated to serve as Director of Youth Sports and Performance Training. His primary service is for the communities of Stafford and Chesterfield County. Joshua’s desire is to bring his experience in sports training throughout the community in which he attended college and played football. Joshua is passionate about not only helping athletes reach their full potential in performance, but also helping them reach their full potential in life.

Bo Hunter, Elite Fitness Trainer

Bo was born in Port of Spain,Trinidad. At a young age he and his family moved to the United States, where they landed in Brooklyn NY.

As a youth, sports became a major part of Bo’s life. He wanted and strived to be the best at everything he did, from boxing to football failure wasn't an option. Bo’s talent was good enough to take him to the NFL, where he was picked up as a free agent to the Oakland Raiders.  He spent 5 years with the Raiders as a running back and assisting on special teams.

Bo who now resides in Northern Virginia brings tremendous experience and a wealth of knowledge in physical fitness to Russell Fitness Sports & Wellness. His experience and background allows him to work with a broad range of clientele from athletes to an average person looking to live a healthier life, to rehabilitation to boxing and group fitness.
